We've set up this article, to cover FAQs from teachers when considering setting up virtual and/or kit listings.
Where do I put URL for the virtual classes?
- For pre-recorded classes, you can enter this on the class editing page
- For live-streaming classes, you'll set this individually per session, as and when you get bookings. As an example, when you get a booking for your 4th of May class, you'd then go to your ClassBento dashboard, click the 'videocam' icon on that session, and enter the URL there. The attendees of that session will then be notified automatically (both existing attendees and those who book later)
What video sharing platforms are other teachers using for pre-recorded videos?
- You might like to consider streaming platforms like Youtube or Vimeo. You can list videos in an "unlisted" manner so that the general public can't access your videos
- You can also upload a video file (e.g. .mp4, .mov) into a folder on a cloud drive like Google Drive or Dropbox - you can often then add a password on these as needed
What tips do you have for online and pre-recorded videos - is there anything specific I need to do or a guide to follow?
- In terms of how best to set these up, you can refer to the top virtual classes we offer and see how they've set up their listings. The classes that have the best rankings on our virtual class catalog pages (which you can access via the dropdown navigation menu at the top of every page) are our best performers
What are the steps in organising shipping, how does it work?
- You can use your own shipping solution. In Australia and the UK, you can also use ClassBento's integrated shipping solution.
- If you choose to use ClassBento's solution, it means that new shipping labels are automatically created for you whenever you receive relevant orders that require shipping, and customers are automatically sent tracking info; ClassBento will deduct a shipping fee for these orders. Please note that your parcel must be fairly small (the exact dimensions are mentioned on the class-editing page) for it to be eligible for use with our shipping solution
How should I price my listing, and should I include the shipping fee in the overall ticket cost?
- Yes, we mention "free domestic shipping" for all kits, so your price should already absorb any shipping costs. International shipping can be negotiated on a case by case basis, and you can then capture the extra fees for this via Invites
Can I put an expiry date on my video?
- Not through ClassBento; however you might have other solutions (e.g. you might change the URL or password on your video file every few months)
Is there a way I can stop people from sharing the code or video, do you have any policies or terms and conditions for this?
- You can add your own T&Cs for this via the "Questions" feature when creating your listing. Aside from that, unfortunately it can be quite difficult to stop sharing from happening (which is the case for most media - e.g. if you can view it on your device, generally you can copy it), so you'll just need to take this into account. You can of course take legal action if they share it publicly, though this is not likely to happen
When do I receive payment for kits/products/ live/pre-recorded classes?

When do I need to ship off the kit to the student? If I can't make it within the required timeframe due to lack of stock and needing to order more materials, what do I do?
- You can set the shipping speed expectations when creating your listings. If you can't meet this occassionally, just let affected customers know and work out a solution with them (e.g. they might be happy to wait, or they might want a refund), and you can also temporarily update the shipping speed expectations on your listing if needed
How does the 'drop off at store' option work?
- In Australia, if you use our shipping solution, you can drop your parcel off at a local participating store. You'll just need to print out your label then drop it off at that store, during their business hours; then later a courier will come and pick it up from that store. This option is not available in other countries at the moment
- When you set up your listing, if you choose this option, you'll be prompted to enter your location; you'll then be provided with local stores to choose from
